Huntsman spiders are said to be one of the largest spiders found in the world. Huntsman spiders are poisonous spider species because their bite can cause severe pain, nausea, and headache but they won’t kill any human. These spiders are very smart and fast. 

Size of huntsman spider

Adult huntsman spiders have a body length of 2.2 to 2.8 cm and have a leg span of 7 to 12 cm. The average weight of a huntsman spider is between 0.0015-0.37 lb. 

Distribution and habitat

Huntsman spiders are found in warm tropical climates all around the world in places such as Australasia, Africa, Asia, the Americas, and the Mediterranean Basin. They are common in Australia but have been introduced accidentally to parts of Pakistan, China, the USA, India, and Japan. Huntsman Spiders are usually found under bark on trees, under rocks, and slabs of bark on the ground.

Methods to kill huntsman spider

Raid doesn’t actually kill spiders but it acts like nerve gas and affects the nervous system of huntsman spiders. This can cause their muscles to spasm and they may die. 

Some other methods to kill huntsman spiders

  1. Clean your wardrobe and house daily.
  2. Do not squash the spider because it can spread its poison.
  3. You can take it out and leave it away from your area.
  4. Vacuuming and removing the webs regularly is a recommended way to keep the space clean.
  5. Remove the existing webs in the house with the help of a cleaning net or vacuum cleaners.
  6. A simpler way to kill huntsman spiders is using a pest spray over the spider or near its habitat.
  7. You should seal any cracks and vents in your home, which will close their path to enter the house.
  8. Using pesticides and pest control will allow you to get rid of huntsman spiders.
